One Piece Grand Gourmet management sim announced

One Piece Grand Gourmet, a new management sim from Kairosoft that focuses on the series’ culinary moments, will launch on Oct. 23 for Switch and Switch 2. The trailer centers on the Straw Hat Pirates’ chef Sanji running the kitchen and a recognizable parade of customers.

The game promises more than 400 pixelated characters from the series, including Buggy the Clown. Players will send Straw Hat crew members to hunt for better ingredients and can use Devil Fruit abilities to enhance dishes. Small chibi versions of the crew appear on the food sets, a detail described in the announcement as positively adorable.

Kairosoft developed the title; the studio earned acclaim with management sims such as Game Dev Story, which first appeared in Japan in 1997 and reached a worldwide audience on mobile in 2010. The company has since localized many of its other sims, including Mega Mall Story and Dungeon Village, bringing most of its back catalog to international players.
