More than a decade after its premiere, one NBC sitcom from 2009 is again climbing streaming charts, proving the long shelf life of well-made television. The show’s mockumentary style mixes the workplace hijinks familiar to fans of The Office with a warmly optimistic lead across seven seasons.

Set in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, the series follows a ragtag Parks and Recreation Department led by Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler. Leslie’s first big goal is to turn a giant pit behind her best friend Ann’s house into a park, and bureaucracy and local politics soon provide plenty of comic obstacles.

The cast grew into its strengths over time: Nick Offerman’s gruff Ron Swanson resists Leslie’s cheerfulness, Tom Haverford and intern April Ludgate supply plenty of chaos, and Chris Pratt’s Andy Dwyer and Retta’s Donna Meagle became fan favorites.
