One Line Ruined House of the Dragon Season 3 Premiere
House of the Dragon returned with a season three premiere that was emotionally devastating, full of blunt reminders that war is brutal and that those least able to grasp its costs are often consumed by it. The episode’s action ranks with the franchise’s best, but other moments fell flat — most notably a scene with Queen Rhaenyra.
The Battle of the Gullet is one of the most tense, visceral, and consequential fights in the series, on par with the Battle of the Bastards, the siege of Winterfell, Hardhome, and the Trial of the Seven. It also gave the show a memorable pair of characters in Admiral Sharako Lohar and her ship the Bitchfist.
Lohar, played by trans actress Abigail Thorn, commanded the Bitchfist with a single‑minded intensity rarely seen among the show’s female warriors, and felt more memorable in her brief appearance than some of the principals, including Rhaenyra.
