Obsidian faces class action alleging California wage-law violations
Obsidian Entertainment, developer of Fallout: New Vegas, Avowed and The Outer Worlds, is the target of a class action lawsuit that alleges a systematic pattern of wage and hour violations under the California Labor Code and Industrial Welfare Commission Wage Orders.
The case has been active since October last year and an amended complaint was filed in January; a Reddit user highlighted the amendment. The plaintiff, Victoria Turner, matches the name of a QA lead on The Outer Worlds 2. The suit defines the class as anyone employed at Obsidian as non-exempt employees in California from October 9, 2021 through the date of class certification, and Turner also seeks to include people who left employment on or after October 9, 2022.
The complaint alleges Obsidian failed to pay all wages, including minimum wages and overtime, and wages due upon separation.
