NYC Mayor Mamdani hints at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani dropped a major hint about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s forthcoming wedding while discussing security for the FIFA World Cup 2026. "I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience," he told reporters, adding that the city is used to big events that "coincide" this summer — the Knicks’ Finals run, July 4, America 250 and "Taylor Swift’s wedding." When asked if he had been invited, Mamdani replied, "No and no," wished the couple "a lovely wedding," and said he would "listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own." He also pointed to a sense of togetherness around the city after a weekend when people wore Brazil, Morocco and Knicks jerseys, saying "it feels like a city that is coming to life." Several insiders said the couple were planning a July 3 weekend ceremony at Madison Square Garden.
Guests who received an invite were reportedly required to sign an NDA before getting details, with penalties if the agreement is broken.
