GTA 6 has loomed over the industry for so long it feels like a force of nature, prompting fans to speculate about trailers and pushing many publishers to reshuffle release dates ahead of its November 19 launch. Devolver responded to a Kotaku headline on Twitter, noting "not every publisher" is running scared.

Numerous companies have loaded September with major releases: The Blood of Dawnwalker on September 3, Marvel's Wolverine on September 15, LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight on September 18, Silent Hill: Townfall on September 24 and Onimusha: Way of the Sword on September 25.

While Devolver says it isn't worried about competing with GTA 6 and appears to have no fall launches planned, it has shifted dates before. The publisher moved fantasy platformer Dark Scrolls to June 22 after Yacht Club Games announced Mina the Hollower for May 29, adding, "There's room for two pixelated fantasy action games in the world." Mina sold 300,000 copies in three days.
