Nintendo UK releases Star Fox mousepad reward, but wider accessory line missing

Nintendo has released a Star Fox mousepad, shared on the official Nintendo Store UK Twitter (X) page. The mat is described as a place to "Pilot your mouse (or Joy-Con 2 controller) over," and it uses the box art render of Fox, Falco, Peppy and Slippy. The item is a Nintendo Reward that can be claimed for 500 Platinum Points, rather than the start of a broader Star Fox Switch 2 accessory line.

Nintendo and licensed brands often use new game launches to roll out themed devices, and this mousepad stands in contrast to other recent tie-ins — Splatoon Raiders already has a pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons available to pre-order for $99 / £74.99, and the Super Mario Galaxy Movie saw Turtle Beach release a Rosalina Rematch controller for $64.87 / £54.99.

I spent the weekend barrel-rolling around the Lylat System and even found the last Star Wolf fight tougher than before, but I would have enjoyed it more with Star Fox-branded Switch 2 controllers or cases.
