Nintendo Direct summer 2026: where and when to watch
A brand-new Nintendo Direct will join the summer game festivities on June 9, promising announcements, reveal trailers, and gameplay footage from Nintendo and third-party studios. Arriving after Summer Game Fest and Day of the Devs, the showcase comes with high hopes of major reveals, including new or renewed Mario and Zelda games.
With release dates set for July 2 and July 23, Rhythm Heaven Groove and Splatoon Raiders will likely appear in the Direct with new trailers. Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, announced in late 2025 and scheduled for 2026, is expected to receive a release date reveal, and The Duskbloods might see a similar update.
Star Fox, announced in early May and due June 25 for the Switch 2, could show gameplay footage, though that may be reserved for the Nintendo Treehouse: Live presentation. Other rumored entries, mainly attributed to leaker Nate the Hate, include a new 3D Mario, a new WarioLand, and a new Switch Sports game; Xenoblade Chronicles 2 may be getting a definitive edition for the Switch 2.
