Nintendo Direct rumored for next week to round off Summer Game Fest

As Summer Game Fest continues, rumors suggest a Nintendo Direct may happen next week. Nintendo long followed a February, June and September cadence, but that pattern has shifted; last year brought March, April and September Directs, and February was skipped the year before and this year.

The company has also dropped occasional announcements via the Nintendo Today app, including Star Fox and Splatoon Raiders. Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb said on his Last of the Nintendogs podcast that he has "heard Tuesday," specifically "Tuesday morning," which would line up with the 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST timing Nintendo has used for recent presentations.

Grubb added that "things get a little messed up," so a Wednesday slot remains possible. Leaker Nate The Hate plans to release a podcast later today that should discuss timing and could corroborate Grubb's remarks.
