Neymar is closing in on a return for Brazil, and his father shared a motivational video hours before the Selecao's third-round World Cup group-stage fixture against Scotland. The clip shows Neymar delivering a locker-room speech about lessons his father gave him from a young age.

The footage, originally from the Kings League Brazil final at the Allianz Parque in May 2025, features the forward telling teammates: “My father always told me, you know? Every time I went onto the pitch, he would say: ‘Son, run, dedicate yourself, play as if it were the last game of your life’.

So, run, my brother, run as if it were the last day of your life.” The timing is notable because Neymar is set to make his first appearance since a calf injury sustained while playing for Santos in a 3-0 defeat to Coritiba on May 17. Named on the bench for the Scotland game, the 34-year-old travelled to Miami to join the squad, completed his recovery and is considered fit enough to play as a substitute, a boost for Brazil's camp.
