New He-Man Movie One of 2026’s Biggest Box Office Flops

Amazon MGM’s Masters of the Universe, featuring Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam/He-Man and Jared Leto as Skeletor, has drawn roughly $55 million worldwide after its opening weekend. As of June 7 the film had earned about $29 million domestically and $25 million from 86 international markets, yielding an opening weekend total of approximately $54 million.

For a movie that cost about $200 million to make, that is a poor start. The story follows Prince Adam, stuck in our boring, normal world, returning to his home planet to stop Skeletor and become the rightful leader of Eternia. Critics have given the film solid reviews, but that hasn’t translated into theatre traffic.
