Netflix released the first teaser for WIT Studio’s anime remake, The One Piece. The minute-long trailer covers the early East Blue days, including Gol D. Roger’s final speech. The One Piece is set for February 2027 and will consist of seven 42-ish-minute episodes, adapting the first 50 chapters of the manga and reaching partway through the Baratie arc, where the crew meets Sanji.

One Piece already has a long-running anime from Toei Animation — 1,167 episodes — but that version ran weekly for decades and often took non-canonical detours to avoid catching up to the manga. Its strict schedule also limited the kind of flashy animation now common in battle shonen adaptations.

WIT Studio, known for visually striking work on titles such as the early seasons of Attack on Titan, Ranking of Kings, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga, will handle the remake. Masashi Koizuka will direct, with Taku Kishimoto handling series composition.
