Netflix's The East Palace Debuts with 100% on Rotten Tomatoes

Netflix has released a new eight-episode fantasy action series set in Joseon-era Korea that blends supernatural terror with mystery and swordplay. The East Palace follows a warrior who can move between the realms of the living and the dead and a lady of the court who guards a secret, both tasked by the king to unravel the palace’s dangerous curse.

The show was written by Kwon So-ra and Seo Jea-won, creators already known for weaving Korean occultism into series like Bulgasal: Immortal Souls and The Guest, and directed by Choi Jung-kyu. It stars Nam Joo-hyuk as Gu-cheon, who wields a ghost-killing sword, and Roh Yoon-seo as Saeng-gang, who can hear the voices of the dead.

Early reviews have been uniformly positive, and the series currently holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes after only a handful of critiques.
