Netflix Gives 'John Wick' a Unique Twist in New Action Thriller Series
Keanu Reeves’ John Wick has cast a long shadow over modern action, and Netflix’s new limited series Teach You A Lesson borrows that energy while flipping the premise: a figure as lethal as Wick is placed in a school setting to teach—quite literally. The 10-episode outing sends a government team called the Teachers’ Rights Protection Bureau into schools where bullies terrorize students and staff, using unconventional, often violent tactics to restore order.
"When respect collapses in schools, unconventional inspectors arrive to set things right — with sharp, no-nonsense lessons you won't find in textbooks," reads the series synopsis. Directed by Hong Jong-chan and written by Lee Nam-kyu, the Bureau’s key members include Na Hwa-jin (Kim Moo-yul), Choi Gang-seok (Lee Sung-min), Im Han-rim (Jin Ki-joo) and Bong Geun-dae (Pyo Ji-hoon).
Hong reunites with Kim and Lee after their work together on Juvenile Justice.
