Netflix Reportedly Developing Live-Action Persona Series

Netflix is developing a live-action series based on the Persona franchise, though the report did not specify which game or characters will appear or whether the show will tell a new story in the same universe. Atlus officially teased the next entry in the series, Persona 6, earlier this month.

Christopher Monfette is reportedly attached as writer, executive producer and showrunner; his past credits include work on 9-1-1 and Star Trek: Picard. Shawn Levy and Robert Atwood are listed as executive producers through 21 Laps, a studio that recently helped produce the box office blockbuster Backrooms.

Levy directed Deadpool & Wolverine and has a next film, Star Wars: Starfighter, on the slate. Story Kitchen is also involved, and the project remains in early stages, so it could still fall apart. If the series moves forward, it would join other Netflix video game adaptations such as The Witcher, Arcane and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which is returning for a second season later this year.
