Netflix Renews Little House on the Prairie Reboot Ahead of Premiere
Netflix has already renewed its new adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House books for a second season, despite the series not yet having its official premiere next month. The streamer’s move follows the long legacy of the material, including the 1974 television version that ran for nine seasons.
Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine thanked the cast and crew in a statement, saying, "I’m incredibly grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive. We can’t wait to share this new adaptation of the Little House books with the world, and we’re thrilled that Netflix is giving us the opportunity to continue the story." Netflix describes the series as "part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West," and early coverage has highlighted its faithful tribute to the books.
