Netflix's Long-Awaited 'Little House on the Prairie' Reboot Gets New Trailer
After 21 years, Laura Ingalls and the rest of her family are finally returning to the small screen. The first full-length trailer for the brand-new Netflix series reveals a new iteration of the Ingalls family as they try to make a new home for themselves, and this latest adaptation appears to be the most faithful to the books yet.
The first season adapts the third Laura Ingalls Wilder novel and will premiere on Jul. 9 on the streaming platform. It follows Ma Caroline (Crosby Fitzgerald), Pa Charles (Luke Bracey) and their children Mary (Skywalker Hughes) and Laura (Alice Halsey) as they attempt to establish a home outside Independence, Kansas.
The trailer balances warm family moments with harsh prairie realities—sickness, fire and predators such as wolves are all shown. Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine says the series is about people reinventing themselves: "It’s about people deciding who they want to be, and it’s about people looking for a better life.
