Netflix brings KPop Demon Hunters back to cinemas for its one-year anniversary
KPop Demon Hunters turns one in a few weeks, and Netflix is marking the anniversary with global screenings and a slate of fan activities. The streamer promises "events, activations, and merch drops" in the lead-up to June 20, and the film will return to cinemas in the U.S., U.K.
and Ireland, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Israel. There will also be free outdoor screenings in New York, San Francisco, Atlanta, and a handful of other locations listed on Netflix's Tudum site.
The animated feature was a worldwide phenomenon on release, becoming Netflix's most-watched movie by the end of 2025 with over 500 million views. It later won Academy Awards for Best Original Song with "Golden" and Best Animated Feature. KPop Demon Hunters 2 has been announced but is not expected until 2029.
