Netflix Is Finally Bringing Vin Diesel's Best Sci-Fi Series to Streaming
Netflix added all three Riddick films to its library on June 1, 2026: Pitch Black, The Chronicles of Riddick and Riddick. The trilogy, which culminated before Vin Diesel’s MCU run began in Guardians of the Galaxy, also features Karl Urban. The core premise centers on antihero Richard B.
Riddick’s fight for survival against relentless bounty hunters and monstrous alien creatures, while he is gradually drawn into a galactic prophecy that threatens the universe. Diesel’s career is built on tough, larger-than-life action roles, and this trilogy is no different; his Bloodshot underperformed at the box office because of the pandemic but was making waves on streaming just last week.
The franchise has collectively pulled $267 million globally, with the third installment earning around $98 million on a production budget of $38 million. The Chronicles of Riddick cost about $105 million and made roughly $115.9 million worldwide, a shortfall that left the series too risky for traditional sequel treatment and prompted the leaner 2013 reset.
