Netflix has propelled an unknown Spanish thriller into a streaming hit. The Marked Woman, a mystery crime thriller likened to The Bourne Identity and Taken, debuted on June 5, 2026 and amassed 6.6 million views and 11.9 million hours viewed in its first week, launching it to the #1 spot.

Directed by Gabe Ibáñez and written by Lara Sendim, Rosa Montero, and Olivier Truc, the film is based on a novel by Montero and Truc. It begins when police find a gagged, bound woman inside a shipping container at the Port of Barcelona; unable to remember who she is, she is taken to hospital, where an attempted murder puts her life in further danger.

The Marked Woman now tops this week’s Top 10 Non-English Movies on Netflix and is climbing the charts globally and in the United States, helped by a cast that includes Candela Peña, Ana Rujas, Pol López, Manolo Solo, Luka Peroš and Kira Miró. Critical response has been divisive.
