In recent years some beloved sci‑fi series have not only been canceled but removed from platforms, a fate often linked with Warner Bros. Discovery through cuts to shows like Westworld and Raised by Wolves. Scavengers Reign, created by Joe Bennett and Charles Huettner, premiered as a 12‑episode animated thriller set on the hostile planet Vesta, but Warner canceled it after it failed to reach the viewership needed to justify a costly continuation.

Netflix’s acquisition of the streaming rights in 2024 briefly reignited hopes for a return, especially after Bennett and Huettner spoke publicly about ideas for continuing the story. More than two years later there is still no formal renewal, but the picture has shifted.

Bennett and Green Street Pictures are launching a new series called Dailies, which debuts on Netflix in 2027. On the surface Dailies — which follows office life rather than alien ecosystems — is a very different project, but its existence matters because it shows Netflix is still investing in Green Street.
