Netflix Cancels The Boroughs After One Season

Netflix has canceled The Boroughs after its first season. The series, executive produced by Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, debuted last month to strong reviews but softer-than-expected viewership.

The decision surprised some viewers and industry observers, since plans for a renewal had included a Season 2 writers room and even an idea to shoot Seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back.

The cast includes Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, Bill Pullman, Jena Malone, Carlos Miranda, Seth Numrich and Alice Kremelberg. The Boroughs is now streaming on Netflix.
