Netflix's 97%‑rated sci‑fi hit faces a challenge from a returning dark comedy
Netflix's newest sci‑fi series, The Boroughs, opened to strong critical praise and holds a 97% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Starring Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alice Kremelberg, Bull Pullman, Alfre Woodard and Jena Malone, the show quickly rose to the top of Netflix's weekly streaming charts.
Its run at number one was brief. The Four Seasons returned with its second season on May 28 and reclaimed the platform's top spot, moving The Boroughs into second place on the domestic charts. On the global streaming list the order differs: The Boroughs remains the second most popular series, The Four Seasons sits third, and the Money Heist spin-off Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine holds first.
Created by Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher, The Four Seasons features Fey alongside Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver and Steve Carell; everyone except Carell returned for Season 2.
