MX Linux AHS refreshed systems and delivered modern hardware support
MX Linux is a collaboration between the antiX and MX Linux communities built on Debian Stable. Because of its Debian base, MX Linux is a highly stable operating system that performs well on machines ranging from older systems to midrange and powerhouse computers.
There’s a version, MX-25.2_Xfce_ahs_x64, that includes the 7.07 kernel along with new graphics drivers and firmware, making it suited to newer systems about one to three years old. The AHS release ships with a Liquorix kernel tuned for high-performance audio and video, DKMS packages to ensure modern GPUs and Wi‑Fi chips work out of the box, and an updated Mesa stack that enables crisp HiDPI scaling in Xfce at 125% and 150%.
The MX Nvidia installer also simplifies getting the proper GPU driver in place. Thanks to the Xfce desktop, MX Linux XFCE-AHS runs with speed comparable to any desktop OS and even performed strongly as a virtual machine with 4GB of RAM and two CPUs.
