Murray Bartlett says hardly anyone recognized him on the set of The Death of Robin Hood because his character is largely concealed. "The character that I play was so beautiful on the page, and that was just gorgeous. I think one of the most difficult things is I'm covered up most of the time," he said.

"You just see my eyes." Bartlett added that arriving on set out of costume led to reactions like, "Who's that guy?" and left him feeling a "lack of community." Written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, the film follows an aged Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman) and his partner Little John (Bill Skarsgard) as they reflect on a long life of violent crime that culminates in a terrifying battle.

After the attack, Robin is taken to a priory on a British isle, where Jodie Comer's Brigid, a devout woman, cares for him. At the priory Robin meets the Leper, who is wrapped in rags from head to toe to hide sores and prevent others from catching his illness.
