Marvel will release the one-shot comic The Muppets Take the Marvel Universe this September, pairing Marvel’s heroes with Jim Henson’s creations to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Muppet Show. The announced writing team includes Chip Zdarsky, Mackenzie Cadenhead, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Adam F.

Goldberg, Ashley Allen and Kyle Starks. Artists named so far are Pete Woods, David Baldeon, Áthila Fabbio, E.J. Su, Paco Medina, Mike Henderson and Nick Bradshaw, with additional contributors to be revealed later. Four stories have been detailed: Bruce Banner and Hank Pym stop by Muppet Labs for an experiment with Bunsen and Beaker involving Gamma Rays and Pym Particles; the crew of Swine Trek meets Rocket Raccoon and Groot; Mojo kidnaps Rowlf the Dog; and Doctor Strange crosses paths with the Swedish Chef.

Marvel also showed covers featuring Kermit with Spider-Man, Deadpool with Muppet pirates and Gonzo with Ghost Rider, though some may be cover-only.
