‘A movie for everyone’: stars on making Stop! That! Train!
Drag queen Jujubee spent a press day lingering in the Bleecker Street Media hallway, reading a framed poster tagline in a structured blazer and fishnets between interviews. She and co-star Ginger Minj arrived laughing in coordinated cheetah prints, trading mega-watt smiles and joking about the toll of promotion: “It’s been a lot of work but it doesn’t feel like it,” Ginger said, while Jujubee added that they even have to “schedule our sleep” amid the “stormaganza of press.” Stop!
That! Train! imagines a parallel America where railways dominate, “stormaganzas” are recognised weather events and chaos is common. Adam Shankman’s drag-fronted comedy leans into rapid-fire parody in the spirit of The Naked Gun, Scary Movie and Airplane!, turning a premise that could have felt niche into broad, sustained spoofing that plays to the strengths of RuPaul’s Drag Race and its knack for extended parody.
