Reckless Ben, the content creator who exploded in popularity after a series of videos about a missing Lego Star Wars collection valued at $200,000, has fled to Mexico after his arrest by the American Fork Police Department in Utah. The odd dispute and the circumstances of his arrest have prompted an online "Mormon Mafia" conspiracy, with followers alleging the new owners of the Oregon Bricks & Minifigs branch, Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best, are being aided by police because of ties to the Mormon church.

Toward the end of May, Ben published his first video about Bryan Mansell, whose Lego Star Wars collection was cosigned to the Oregon Bricks & Minifigs branch after his father’s ill health. The Mansell family says new owners Joshua Johnson and Brandon Best took full ownership after the cosign in 2023.

Ben attempted to meet both men; he met Best, who stood outside his house and watched in silence, but was unable to contact Johnson after being stopped by police for failing to stop at a stop sign.
