Monarch Spin-Off Starring Wyatt Russell Moves Forward

A Monarch: Legacy of Monsters spin-off centered on Wyatt Russell's Colonel Lee Shaw has moved forward, with Millie Brady and Pilou Asbaek joining the cast and J.D. Dillard set to direct the pilot. The series follows Shaw as he goes behind enemy lines in Russia in 1984 to prevent the Soviet Union from releasing a new titan that could turn the tide of the Cold War.

The project was first announced in November 2025, three months before Legacy of Monsters Season 2 premiered on Apple TV. Joby Harold will serve as executive producer and showrunner, with Tory Tunnell executive producing through their company, Safe House Productions.

Brady is best known for playing Lady Æthelflæd on The Last Kingdom and recently appeared on Apple TV's Surface; her film credits include Pride & Prejudice and Zombies and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. Asbaek, who played Euron Greyjoy in Game of Thrones, has appeared in Lucy, The Great Wall, Ghost in the Shell, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
