Moise Bombito removed from Canada World Cup squad
Moise Bombito will miss the World Cup after being judged not fit enough to contribute to Jesse Marsch's side. The Nice centre back broke his leg in October 2025 and felt "sore" after 30 minutes in a warm-up friendly, prompting Canada to prioritise his long-term health.
Bombito twice complained of leg soreness during the tune-up friendlies and was able to play only 30 minutes in two of the three matches, against Uzbekistan and behind closed doors against Vermont Green. He limped off against Uzbekistan and was seen icing his leg on the bench.
Canada said he has not suffered a new injury and is feeling the effects of surgery to repair the broken leg. Canada have identified Vancouver Whitecaps centre back Ralph Priso to fill the void; he remained with the squad after missing the 26-man list and impressed off the bench in the 2-0 win over Uzbekistan.
