Miyazaki says FromSoftware has unannounced games amid Kadokawa investor turmoil
FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki told Denfaminico Gamer in an email that the studio has upcoming projects that have not yet been announced, while largely declining to comment on recent investor action at parent company Kadokawa. He said he was not in a position to discuss activist investors' moves, but added he was "generally satisfied with the development environment" under Kadokawa and that the studio was "able to freely create the games we want to make without excessive interference." Miyazaki said maintaining that environment so the team can focus on game development is of utmost importance to him and to FromSoftware.
Hong Kong–based hedge fund Oasis Management purchased a majority share in Kadokawa and is pushing for the company's current CEO to be fired. Oasis has criticized Kadokawa for allowing FromSoftware to work with third-party publishers such as Bandai Namco rather than publishing through Kadokawa itself.
