Microsoft's June Patch Tuesday update fixes a record 198 security vulnerabilities, including 32 rated critical and three that had been publicly disclosed as zero-day flaws. Because the updates are mandatory they will download and install automatically, but users should double-check and reboot for the changes to take effect.

The fixes are documented in three KB articles: KB5094126 for Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2, KB5093998 for Windows 11 23H2, and KB5094127 for Windows 10. On Windows 11, go to Settings and select Windows Update to check status or apply a pending restart. Windows 10 users need to be enrolled in the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program and use Settings > Update & Security.

Microsoft used AI assistance, including tools like Anthropic's Claude Mythos, to help uncover and patch many of the flaws, a trend that patch management provider Action1 said is speeding vulnerability discovery.
