Netflix's three-part documentary Michael Jackson: The Verdict debuted on Jun. 3 and became the most-watched new TV program in its first week, earning 17.8 million views in its first five days and topping the service's TV charts for the week of Jun. 1-7.

The film offers a deep look into Jackson's 2005 criminal trial, examining the allegations, courtroom proceedings and public response to the 10 felony charges he faced.

The streaming debut comes as Antoine Fuqua's biopic Michael, starring Jaafar Jackson, has brought renewed attention to the singer; approaching the end of its seventh week in theaters, that movie has grossed just under $900 million worldwide and is now the second-highest-grossing film of 2026.

Jackson's legacy remains complicated: he was found not guilty in the 2005 trial, some celebrities including Macaulay Culkin publicly defended him, and a second biopic has already been teased. Michael Jackson: The Verdict is now streaming on Netflix.
