Meccha Chameleon lives up to the hype as a great party game
Meccha Chameleon launched into the friendslop scene with 1,000,000 copies sold in four days, and the buzz has only grown. After watching countless videos of artistic skill, I finally jumped in despite having no knack for a paint brush. I spent a week away from my PC before getting a few rounds in with colleagues and immediately discovered how limited my creativity is compared with others.
My disguises included a balloon, the floor of the Backrooms map, and an upside-down parking sign; staff writer Harvey Randall managed a more convincing blend with some plant pots when viewed from the right angle. The game isn’t without flaws. The dropper tool that copies colours proved temperamental for me, which constrained what I could mimic in the time available.
Still, the core experience is chaotic and joyful, fitting neatly alongside other goofy multiplayer favourites like REPO, Lethal Company, and Content Warning.
