Meccha Chameleon has become a viral hit on Steam, drawing millions of players in just a few weeks after its low-priced release. The hide-and-seek multiplayer hands players paint to color their character so they can blend into the surrounding environment, and fans have been pushing those camouflage skills beyond the game.

People are 3D-printing colored figures and leaving them in public places to match real-world patterns. Some efforts are meticulous: strangerhands_ on TikTok painted a chameleon to align with multiple designs on a coffee shop bathroom wall, while szetingwong on Instagram sticks figures to bags of chips in a grocery store, blending them with the Lays logo and FIFA art until they’re hard to notice without a zoom.

It's now my goal to find one of these little guys somewhere in New York City. So get to it, New Yorkers.
