Mbappé: 'Easier to console one than five' after PSG's Champions League win
Kylian Mbappé described the mood inside the France camp after Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League win over Arsenal, saying senior players have had to manage contrasting emotions between William Saliba and a group of victorious Parisians. "I quickly congratulated my PSG teammates.
Its easier to console one teammate (Saliba) whos lost the Champions League than five," Mbappé said during his press conference. "Its brilliant what theyve achieved. I know what its like to lose a Champions League final, and weve tried to console Saliba. The dressing room are in good spirits, and now were focusing on our goal, which is the World Cup." Now spearheading the Real Madrid attack at club level, he played down individual accolades and stressed team success.
"Its nice because Im on a list of top goal scorers, though Im not sure if its fair because theyre old compared to me," he joked. "Ive been lucky enough to play in two World Cups and go far, as well as perform well. Of course, I want to keep making history.
