Matt Shakman to Direct A24's Discretion Starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning

A24 has signed director Matt Shakman to helm the pilot and three additional episodes of Discretion, a legal thriller that will be released on Paramount+. The series stars Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, who will also serve as executive producers. Written and executive produced by Chandler Baker from a short story he wrote, Discretion follows Lenny (Fanning), a summer associate at a prestigious Dallas law firm who uncovers a web of NDAs hiding a wild secret.

When she realizes she signed the same agreement, the information she uncovers puts her in the crosshairs of the firm’s most powerful female partner, Sharon (Kidman), upending their mentor–protégé dynamic as the company’s secrets are thrust into the spotlight. Kidman and Fanning reunite for a third time after appearing together in Margo's Got Money Troubles, The Beguiled (2017) and How to Talk to Girls at Parties.
