Matt Reeves Shares First Shot as The Batman Part II Begins Filming
Matt Reeves' sequel, The Batman Part II, has officially entered production. Reeves announced the start of filming on X using the hashtag "First Shot."
He first introduced this iteration of the Caped Crusader in 2022; that film was a box office success and has been widely regarded as one of the best live-action versions of the character since Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's work on The Dark Knight Trilogy.
A follow-up felt inevitable, though Reeves and co-writer Mattson Tomlin took time to crack the script before moving into production.
Reeves' post included a photo of a clapboard bearing the bat symbol with the words "Part II" beneath it. The subject of the first day's filming is obscured; all that appears visible is a slab or table with a body on it.
This story is still developing.
