Matt Mercer returns as Critical Role Dungeon Master for Age of Umbra: Sallowlands

Matt Mercer will return as Dungeon Master for Age of Umbra: Sallowlands, a six-part standalone miniseries set in the darker Halcyon Domain. The first episode premieres July 9 and will stream on Beacon, Twitch and YouTube, with YouTube VODs posted the Monday after each premiere.

Age of Umbra uses Critical Role’s Daggerheart system and takes place in a world abandoned by the gods more than a century ago, one Mercer has described as "Soulsborne-esque, super dark and deadly." The original Age of Umbra followed residents of Desperloch; Sallowlands follows five adventurers who come together to explore a newly revealed region of the Halcyon Domain.

Mercer will DM for a cast that includes Laura Bailey, Jennifer English, Vico Ortiz, Abubakar Salim and Zachery Renauldo. English and Ortiz are making their Critical Role debuts, and as of the time of writing the characters’ names, heritages and classes have not been revealed.
