The highly anticipated sword-and-sorcery film Masters of the Universe is now playing in theaters worldwide. Directed by Travis Knight, it stars Nicholas Galitzine as Adam Glenn, the prince who must reclaim his destiny as He-Man, with Jared Leto as Skeletor; Dolph Lundgren appears in a cameo as a "Macho Man" who meets Adam at a gym.

Produced by Mattel Studios and Escape Artists and distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, the movie will stream on Prime Video in North America after its theatrical run. Because Amazon owns both Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, the Pay‑1 streaming window remains in-house.

The studio has favored a 45-to-90 day theater-to-streaming window for key films, with timing influenced by box office performance; Project Hail Mary, for example, stayed off SVOD longer due to strong ticket sales. If Masters of the Universe surpasses expectations it could arrive on Prime Video in early September — possibly Thursday, Sep.
