Marvel's Wolverine PS5 physical release will include a disc

With GTA 6’s physical edition confirmed as a code-in-a-box, collectors feared more big releases might follow that path. A fresh round of concern spread through the community as questions mounted about the future of discs for AAA games. Insomniac Games has put those worries to rest for Marvel’s Wolverine on PS5, confirming on Twitter that “The physical version will include a disc in box,” in response to a concerned fan.

The studio’s reply made its stance clear. Insomniac also pointed players to the game’s PlayStation Store page, where the standard edition is listed at $69.99; the Deluxe Edition is priced at $80. While GTA 6 and Mario Kart World have helped normalise higher price points, Wolverine won’t be following every trend.

Rockstar’s next release is expected to sell strongly regardless of format, and multiple retailers removed GTA 6 after its physical version was confirmed to be a code in a box.
