Marvel's Wolverine shows brutal gameplay ahead of Sept. 15 release
Insomniac Games revealed new gameplay for Marvel's Wolverine during the PlayStation State of Play broadcast, confirming the PlayStation 5 exclusive launches on Sept. 15. The footage makes clear the game emphasizes graphic violence and Logan's healing factor. The sequence opens with Logan tailing mutants hunted and captured by the Reavers, who intend to deliver them to Bolivar Trask, and introduces Jean Grey as an emergent leader among the captured mutants.
In an extended in-engine scene, Wolverine leaps from a rooftop, impales an enemy through the neck, and repeatedly shreds foes with his adamantium claws, emerging from encounters coated in blood as his wounds—and even his suit—regenerate. He is at one point run over by a semi, dragged behind the truck, then finally reaches the mutants; when a green mutant asks 'Are you a superhero?' he replies, 'No, kid.
I'm Wolverine,' after a bullet grazes his bicep. Pre-orders open today and the game will retail for $69.99.
