Mario Kart World soundtrack arrives on Nintendo Music

Nintendo has added the Mario Kart World soundtrack to Nintendo Music, the streaming service included with Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The release comes just ahead of the first anniversary of the Switch 2 and its launch title, Mario Kart World, on June 5, and arrives alongside app updates that add iPad support, Siri, Apple CarPlay, Android Audio and a new web app.

Led by Atsuko Asahi, the soundtrack follows the Mario Kart 8 approach of hiring top session and jazz-fusion players in Japan to perform live, genre-hopping big-band arrangements of classic game tunes. Nintendo is staggering the rollout, holding back some Free Roam tracks for future drops, but has released four playlists that together total more than two and a half hours of music.
