Marilyn Monroe’s favorite beauty products are still available today
This June marks 100 years since Marilyn Monroe’s birth, and her signature beauty look endures. Many of the products she used are still on the market, with staples that included Erno Laszlo, Revlon, Chanel and Max Factor. Celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldridge also recently partnered with Monroe’s estate to create a collection based on the star’s looks.
Nivea was a daily go‑to for Monroe, layered under makeup for a luminous, on‑screen glow and even applied to her legs in 1951. The brand’s blue‑and‑white tin remains popular, with more than 15,000 five‑star ratings. She also loved Floris Rose Geranium; while in London in 1959 she ordered six bottles under a pseudonym, and the perfumery still displays the receipt.
The perfume can cost about $330 today, though many fans opt for the bath essence as a more affordable way to enjoy the scent. Monroe favored bold lips: Revlon’s Cherries in the Snow, which debuted in 1953, is considered close to the Bachelor’s Carnation shade found in a secret compartment of one of her evening bags at auction.
