Omar Berrada warned Manchester United will not be held to ransom by agents or intermediaries, saying the club will maintain a disciplined recruitment approach after returning to the Champions League under Michael Carrick. He said United intend to replicate the transfer template from last summer, with a recruitment blueprint driven by director of football Jason Wilcox and aimed at the 2026-27 campaign.

"I think the template for what we did last summer will be replicated," Berrada said, stressing the need to enter a window prepared and with a clear plan. Berrada emphasised long-term sustainability over reactive spending. "We have to be really disciplined; it’s simple.

We have a plan; we know what we can invest in, and we have to stick to that... It’s very important that you don’t let the market or the agents dictate what we should be doing," he added. The club is also leaning on data under Michael Sansoni to minimise risk and improve decisions.
