Magic: The Gathering’s Marvel Super Heroes set is just weeks away, and Wizards of the Coast unveiled numerous new cards from the Universe Beyond expansion. From 600 new cards to the contents of its four Commander decks, it’s a colossal set, and it’s coming to Magic: The Gathering Arena.

Among the revealed variants are Borderless Logo treatments that place characters against a monocolored background with their name printed behind them. Early examples include Doctor Doom, Thanos, The Mad Titan, and Wolverine, Fierce Fighter. At a press preview event, Magic's head designer, Mark Rosewater, explained the thinking behind these cards: "One of the things that Marvel does is every single major hero or villain has an iconic logo that they have.

And whenever you see them, it's always the same logo, and there's a lot of brand identity in the logos.
