Lizzo twerks at NYC gay bars to celebrate album release and pride month
Lizzo spent Thursday visiting gay bars in Hell’s Kitchen and the West Village to promote her new album "Bitch" and celebrate Pride. She popped into Hardware, bought the entire bar a round of drinks, then headed downtown to Pieces Bar.
At Pieces, she checked out legendary drag queen Shequida’s show, bought another round and "made it rain cash on Shequida." She also performed two songs, "sang live" and "twerked with the queens," prompting cheers from the crowd.
Patrons followed her around the corner to Gay St for a photo opp. She later projected her album title and release date onto a Soho building from West Houston St, saying, "My album just dropped and I don’t think a poster is big enough honey."
She continued promotion with a performance on the "Today" show’s summer concert series and an album signing at Rough Trade in Rockefeller Center, where she plugged Jeanette Settembre’s debut novel "Little Red Flags," shouting "sex, crime, and passion" and recommending it to her 11 million followers.
