Liverpool have turned down a second formal approach from Inter for midfielder Curtis Jones, rejecting a verbal offer of around €25 million (£21.7m). The club are holding out for roughly £35m despite the player entering the final year of his contract. Senior figures at Anfield say they would rather risk losing Jones for nothing than accept a cut-price deal, pointing to recent market precedents such as the fee Tottenham paid Atletico Madrid for Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke’s £52m move from Brighton.

Inter remain persistent and are searching for ways to raise the extra capital needed to meet Liverpool’s valuation. Jones, a Liverpool-born academy graduate, has made 228 senior appearances since his 2019 debut. He played 49 times in 2025-26 but started only 28 matches and finished the season as a makeshift right-back.
