Netflix will premiere its reboot of Little House on the Prairie on July 9, 2026. All eight episodes of Season 1 arrive at once, and the streamer has already renewed the series for a second season. The new adaptation updates Laura Ingalls Wilder’s semi-autobiographical books.

Luke Bracey stars as Charles Ingalls, with Alice Halsey as Laura, Skywalker Hughes as Mary, Crosby Fitzgerald as Caroline, Rachelle Lefevre as teacher Eve Beadle, Willa Dunn as Nellie Oleson, and Alyssa Wapanatâhk as White Sun. From the trailer, the series aims for an emotional tone: Charles says he wanted a fresh start for his family, and the newcomers face threats such as wolf attacks, deadly fevers and the harsh realities of frontier life.

The story remains rooted in themes of land, dreams and hardship, echoing the sweep that made the original series notable. The reboot also foregrounds the Native American experience, noting that the Osage community held rights to the land where the characters settle.
