Liam Payne’s 9-year-old son, Bear, has been named the sole beneficiary of the singer’s estate and will inherit nearly $28 million. Bear, whom Payne shared with ex Cheryl Cole, can access some funds now, while the majority will be held in a trust until he turns 18.

Payne died in October 2024 after falling from the balcony of his third-story hotel room at the Casa Sur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires; he was 31. Medical reports say he suffered multiple traumas, including a fractured skull that led to internal and external bleeding.

Toxicology results showed a blood-alcohol content four times the legal limit and the presence of several drugs, including cocaine, crack and benzodiazepine. Payne did not have a will when he died, so Cheryl Cole and music lawyer Richard Bray were appointed administrators of his estate with authority limited to collecting and preserving his assets.
